Dead Camera Batteries!!

Okay...so am I like the only person in the Universe whose batteries go dead at the WORST times!???...like when I want to take pictures to share with everyone???...so now I have to get new ones and show you the pix tomorrow or Wednesday. Paige lost one of my two re-chargeable batteries and regular batteries go dead so fast in digital cameras. Tomorrow is month end at work and I have the late shift(11am-10pm). I will try to find some batteries before then so that I can show you my recipe swaps that I have completed. Hmmmmm....I wonder how mad my DH will get if I steal the batteries out of the remote control??? :)

Relaxed and Feelin' Fine...

Well my lovelies...I am back home after church and relaxed from Kendra's last night. It WAS just what the doctor ordered. Relaxing in the hot tub, a quick dip in the pool (that was freezing!)...pizza, a few drinks, and movies. We watched Baby Mama and Monster-In-Law, bit funny movies, so lots of laughter insued as well. We laughed and laughed and laughed and I have to say that I love those gals! :)I think we might get together at each other's houses once a month- it is something every girl should do for herself. I am now finishing my drink recipe swaps and will be sending them tomorrow in the mail to their destinations of Idaho and Texas. I soon will be getting several other cards in the mail and will soon have a 6x6 album entirely devoted to recipes. Sure beats those newspaper and magazine clippings that one can never seem to find when you need them. I will tell them to "smile" and snap a picture of each of them before I mail them at lunch time, so that you can see what my latest endeavor has been.

Hot Tub/Movie Night, Here I Come!

Today is "chore/cleaning day" at the Wilson household. BUT!...I have been feverishly working on some 6X6 recipe cards for several SCS swaps that I have joined. I do a load of laundry, work on some cards...make food for the family...work on the cards..etc...I will post pix before I send them off to the hostesses on Monday so that you all can see what I have been up to lately. I make 5+1, 6+1 or 10+1 of the same item, and then get different ones back. I think that is a pretty easy way to grow any collection of recipes. I hope to get inspired enough to make several of these for my own family. I also want to work on Heritage/Recipe books for my family to both tell the story of my Great-Grandfather's trip to America on the ship from Sicily, Italy...and incorporate family recipes and my Grandma's handwritten recipes that my Aunt gave to me when she passed away several years ago. But for now, I have to be ready to go with my friend Ellen (The Queen- I will share the story sometime!)...we are meeting Sally and her sister Kendra and our other friend Debby for some much needed, no hubby/ no kids night of pizza, chick flicks,wine and hot tubbing! I am soooo looking forward to this night at Kendra's house. It is just what the doctor ordered. :)...have fun this evening my lovely sisters and I will be BIT (back in touch) tomorrow after church. Party On!

SO CUTE AND WHAT A BARGAIN!!!!

Our local scrapbook store Scrappers Gallery is where I met some of the gals that I go on bi-annual scrapbook retreats with. The gallery also hosts a yearly "garage sale" where you sell the stuff that you want to get rid of, and in return you get that amount in store credit to spend. My friend Sally let me come over to her house before the sale and I got "dibs" on some great stuff, as I am a tag and embellishment junkie! She made these two books and then didn't want them, so I got them for a steal at $3 each!- Thanks "Salby"...you know that I will put them to good use. I thought I would share pictures of them to get you inspired for your own "fatpages", "fatbooks" and/or cardboard books as some of your are probably already gifted in altering and don't even realize that is what you are doing! :)

The first book is a book of months starting with Jan and ending with Dec. The second book is a Christmas book.
